Cutting Board Construction

Old Yankee Cutting Boards consist of hardwood construction of varying widths and lengths at 1.50” thick. We use only selected kiln dried hardwoods due to their ability to withstand constant use.

The basic light wood being used in our cutting boards is always a type of maple. For the outside edges of all of our cutting boards, we always use a very figured wood such as tiger stripe maple or birdseye maple. The darker accent wood used is sapele mahogany. We use these types of wood due to their ability to withstand constant use while also looking great in your kitchen.

Old Yankee Cutting Boards have 4 rubber feet affixed with stainless steel screws allowing air to always filter around the cutting board as well as providing a very stable contact with your counter preventing shifting and moving during use.  Because of all of the above, our cutting boards weigh between 8 and 20 pounds depending on the model ordered.
